Crash!!

So, on Saturday, I was performing in the Orem City Parade on a police motorcycle identical to the one below, except with our department decals on it. I love doing parades!!! It is the funnest thing ever, chirping your sirens, getting to reach out and high-five the little kids on the side of the road, the rumbling of the engine and the heat coming off ot it, the warm sun on your face and arms, and......getting rear ended!!!!! Yeah.........

So, on this one part of the Orem parade on Center Street, there were approximately 8 or 10 of us motor officers riding our motorcycles in a row, following each other while we were doing tricks. We did a u-turn and then sped back down the parade route again and quickly slowed to make another u-turn. All of the sudden, I heard some screaching tires behind me. I looked over at my side-view mirror to see what was going on and then all of a sudden CRACK!!!! The next thing I knew, my hands were off the handlebars and my feet off the footboards. I quickly got them back on and was able to stabalize the bike without laying it down...close call!! I didn't know what to do in front of so many people so I put my heads above my head and started clapping and everyone stood up and started clapping and cheering. It was still so so embarrassing!!

I discovered that the motor officer behind me just wasn't able to stop in time. I felt really bad for him because he is such a nice guy!!! It damaged both of our bikes somewhat, but they can be fixed!! Fun times...fun times!!!!!!!
